The estimated annual inflation of the CPI in October 2022 is 7.3%, according to the flash indicator prepared by the NSI.
This indicator provides a preview of the CPI which, if confirmed, would mean a decrease of more than one point and a half in its annual rate, since in September this variation was 8.9%.
This development is mainly due to the decrease in electricity prices, which increased in October 2021. The decrease in gas prices, compared to the rise in the previous year, also played a role, although to a lesser extent, and the increase in clothing and footwear prices due to the start of the new season, which is more moderate than in 2021.
The estimated annual variation rate of underlying inflation (general index excluding nonprocessed food and energy products) stands at 6.2%.
