Nearly one-third of Bulgarians struggle to pay all of their debts. This is in accordance with a springtime research conducted by Eurofund. In Bulgaria as well as the rest of the European Union, people struggle the most with paying their household expenditures.

27 percent of Bulgarians, according to a springtime study, are already having trouble paying their bills. The amount of debt that people in Europe are carrying also rises. Household bills have seen the largest increase in liabilities, with wrong payers rising by 5% in only two years.

This trend is anticipated to intensify as energy prices rise. Non-serviced consumer loans are increasing as well, while debts owed to telecom companies have grown by 2%. On a European level, there is no increase in debtors for rent or mortgage payments, but in our country, the updating of rents in light of rising inflation is becoming more and more apparent. It’s not just for them, either.

Aside from getting a second job and cutting costs, there is another way to maintain the standard of living in the face of rising inflation: actively managing the income, however limited it may be.
