According to preliminary statistics released by Statistics Finland, consumer price inflation in Finland remained steady in July, primarily due to higher costs for fuel, electricity, and capital repairs for detached homes.
Similar to June, the consumer price index grew 7.8% year over year in July.
According to the statistical office, price decreases in July relative to a year earlier were particularly notable for child care, non-refundable prescription drugs, regular ferry service, and audio and video recordings.
Consumer prices increased by 0.3 percent from July on a monthly basis, following a 0.7 percent increase in June.
The EU’s inflation indicator, the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices, gained 0.1 percent from one month earlier and increased 8.0 percent annually in July.
