The highest wages in the Visegrad Group are in the Czech Republic, although they still lag considerably below those in its neighbors, Germany and Austria. Employers in the Czech Republic also pay more taxes than is typical for the area.
According to data collected by tax consulting Mazars in their annual report for 22 countries in Central and Eastern Europe, the average monthly wage in the Czech Republic is equal to EUR 1,533, a rise of 12% from the previous year.
According to the most recent data from the Czech Statistical Office (S), the average wage in the Czech Republic will be CZK 37,929 in the first quarter of 2022, an increase of 7.2 percent year over year but a decrease in real terms of 3.6 percent after accounting for inflation.
According to a survey by Mazars, Germany has the highest average wage in the CEE region at EUR 4,130, followed by Austria at EUR 3,818. The lowest average salaries, on the other hand, are 400 euros in Kosovo, 450 euros in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and 485 euros in Ukraine.
