The inflation rate for April 2022 is expected to be 7.2%, according to calculations by Statistics Austria as part of a flash estimate. Compared to the previous month, consumer prices rise by 0.3%.
Bread and cereal prices were up by 7.2 per cent, and milk, cheese and eggs prices rose by 5.5 per cent.
Life in Austria continues to become noticeably more expensive. According to a first estimate, the increase in consumer prices in April 2022 will be 7.2%. In addition to the price increases for fuels and energy products, which continue to determine inflation, food will also have an additional price-increasing effect.
The index level of the consumer price index and further results for April 2022 will be announced on 18 May 2022.
