Electricity and Natural Gas Prices, Period II: July-December, 2019 in Turkey
Average 66.4 kurus was paid in the second period for 1 kWh electricity in the households
In the second period(1) of 2019, the average amount paid per kWh electricity by household consumers increased by 23.4 % to 66.4 kurus. On the other hand, electricity unit price increased by 20.3 % compared to the same period of the previous year.
Average 54.7 kurus was paid in the second period for 1 kWh electricity in the industry
Considering the electricity prices in industry in the second period of 2019, the average amount paid per kWh electricity by industrial consumers was 54.7 kurus, increasing by 13.7 % compared to the previous period and by 24.0 % compared to the same period of the previous year.

Average 178.3 kurus was paid in the second period for 1 m3 natural gas in the households
In the second period of 2019, the average amount paid per m3 natural gas by household consumers increased by 31.5% to 178.3 kurus. On the other hand, natural gas unit price increased by 23.6 % compared to the same period of the previous year.
Average 186.4 kurus was paid in the second period for 1 m3 natural gas in the industry
Considering the natural gas prices in industry in the second period of 2019, the average amount paid per m3 natural gas by industrial consumers was 186.4 kurus, increasing by 11.6 % compared to the previous period and by 24.6 % compared to the same period of the previous year.

EXPLANATIONS
Within the context of the European Union (EU) harmonization process, data on the end-user average unit price for electricity and natural gas is compiled in compliance with consumption bands specified in the relevant EU regulation through semi-annual questionnaires applied to representatives of the electricity and natural gas suppliers. The unit prices are weighted by amount of final consumption of household and industrial consumers in calculations.

Period II: 1 July – 31 December
(2) Consumption bands (T) are standard consumption intervals which is used in computation of electricity and natural gas prices across the European Union.
