Marketable production of lignite was 6 million 811 thousand 105 tonnes in December
Marketable production of lignite(1) increased by 13.5% in December compared to the same month of the previous year and by 0.02% in January-December period compared to the same period of the previous year. On the other hand, its production decreased by 4.8% compared to the previous month.
Marketable production of hard coal was 102 thousand 392 tonnes in December
Marketable production of hard coal increased by 12.8% in December compared to the same month of the previous year, by 8.6% in January-December period compared to the same period of the previous year, and by 2.3% compared to the previous month.
Marketable production of coke derived from hard coal decreased by 0.4% in December compared to the same month of the previous year and by 1.6% in January-December period compared to the same period of the previous year. On the other hand, its production increased by 4.4% compared to the previous month.
Imports of hard coal increased by 6.2% compared to the same month of the previous year
Imports of hard coal increased by 6.2% compared to the same month of the previous year. On the other hand, its imports decreased by 2.8% in January-December period compared to the same period of the previous year and by 9.2% compared to the previous month.
Imports of coke derived from hard coal increased by 265% compared to the same month of the previous year, by 370.7% compared to the previous month. On the other hand its imports decreased by 18.4% in January-December period compared to the same period of the previous year.
The highest ratio of production to deliveries was in lignite in January-December period
The highest ratio(2) of production to deliveries was in lignite by 102.2%. This ratio was 90.2% for coke derived from hard coal and 3.2% for hard coal in January-December period.
Hard coal and lignite were delivered mostly to thermal power plants
Concerning the deliveries of solid fuels in December, hard coal was delivered with a percentage of 61.2% to thermal power plants, 11.8% to coking plants, and 7.2% to industry (except iron and steel industry). On the other hand, 86.7% of lignite was delivered to thermal power plants and 8.4% to industry (except iron and steel industry). Lastly, 97.6% of coke derived from hard coal was delivered to iron and steel industry.
