Consumer Price Index, April 2019
Consumer price index (CPI) increased by 1.69%A rise in general index was realized in CPI (2003=100) on the previous month by 1.69%, on December of the previous year by 4.00%, on same month of the previous year by 19.50% and on the twelve months moving averages basis by 19.39% in April 2019.
The highest monthly increase was 6.77% in alcoholic beverages and tobacco
In April 2019, the indices rose for clothing and footwear 5.36%, for furnishing and household equipment 2.65%, for miscellaneous goods and services 1.94% and for food and non-alcoholic beverages 1.40%.
The only monthly decrease was 0.30% in communication
In April 2019, the indices declined only for communication amongst the main groups by 0.30%.
The highest annual increase was 31.86% in food and non-alcoholic beverages
Furnishing and household equipment with 27.64%, miscellaneous goods and services with 27.47%, health with 19.75% and hotels, cafes and restaurants with 19.58% were the other main groups where high annual increases realized.
The indicator for CPI having specified coverage (B) increased by 1.45%
A rise in CPI excluding unprocessed food, energy, alcoholic beverages, tobacco and gold was realized in CPI (2003=100) on the previous month by 1.45%, on December of the previous year by 1.77%, on same month of the previous year by 16.78% and on the twelve months moving averages basis by 18.48% in April 2019.
In April 2019 within average prices of 418 items in the index, average prices of 42 items remained unchanged while average prices of 294 items increased and average prices of 82 items decreased.
